Graduate Student
McKensey is from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and received her B.S. in Psychology from South Dakota State University with minors in Human Development and Family Studies, Mental Health Services, and Religion. Her research interests broadly focus on examining family dynamics, with a specific interest in populations that experience traumatic events. Her other interests lie in ensuring rural communities receive adequate mental health care, especially for children and adolescents affected by trauma, and increasing access to these services across underserved and rural communities. McKensey's master's thesis focuses on understanding more about foster parents' experiences and perspectives and how it relates to their fostering satisfaction and professional quality of life.
