Emily Hermann

Graduate Student

Emily is from Jackson, Missouri and received her B.S. from Missouri State University, with minors in Criminology and Religious Studies. Her research interests broadly focus on examining the impacts of early adversity on family and youth, with a specific interest in populations that experience repeated exposure to traumatic events. Additionally, she is interested in assessing resilience in those experiencing community-wide trauma and working to increase mental health services in rural and underserved communities. Emily’s master’s thesis focuses on assessing risk and resilience factors that influence the psychological functioning of children with a first responder parent.
